OS-Police-Targs-fullCouple caught after breaking into apartment building.

On July 25th, 2018 around 8:00 p.m. the Owen Sound Police were notified of a break in to an apartment building situated in the 500 block of 2nd Avenue East, Owen Sound. Officers discovered that culprits had forced open the door to the ground floor laundry room then proceeded to smash open the change compartments of the washer and dryer. Not only did the individuals steal a large quantity of change it is estimated that they caused over $1,000 in damage.

Police would like to thank the witnesses who came forward. Their assistance and the cooperation of others during this investigation greatly assisted officers in establishing the identity of the suspects involved. The investigation lead officers to an Owen Sound motel where a male and female were later located and arrested just after 2:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

A 32 year old Owen Sound man and 33 year old Owen Sound women were taken into custody without incident. They both will be appearing in the Owen Sound Court this morning on several criminal charges including Break, Enter and Theft, Mischief under $5,000, Possession of Stolen Property, Fail to Comply with Recognizance and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
