OS-Police-Targs-fullOne man arrested and another is sought in downtown robbery.

On July 30th 2018 just after 9:00 p.m., two males attended in the area of a business located in the 300 block of 8th Street East. One man entered the business wearing a disguise and brandishing a knife while the other man stayed outside as a lookout.

An alert citizen thought the man was suspicious in his behaviour and monitored him. When the other suspect exited the business the two fled on foot, the citizen chased after them eventually catching one of them and contacted police. Uniformed officers attended the scene taking the male into custody as well as items seized for forensic examination.

A quantity of cash was stolen from the victim who was shaken up however was not injured. Police anticipate identifying the second male in the very near future as the Criminal Investigations Branch will continue to investigate this matter.

A 43 year old Owen Sound resident will attend Bail Court this morning with respect to a charge of Robbery, Fail to Comply with Undertaking (3 counts) and Fail to Comply with Probation (2 counts).
