On August 3rd, 2018 at approximately 8:50 a.m., officers with the Hanover Police Service were called to an apartment in the 500 block of 10th Avenue in Hanover for reports of a break and enter in progress. Hanover officers arrived determining that the male suspect was still inside and had crawled into an attic space located in the apartment to evade his arrest.

Officers with the Hanover Police Service with the assistance from the West Grey Police Service contained the apartment building and secured the area. Hanover officers established contact with the male suspect in the attic who eventually surrendered to police without further incident.

Shortly after 10 a.m., Hanover officers arrested a man, 34, of no fixed address on a warrant for Sexual Assault, Criminal Harassment and Assault. Further investigation continues related to the break and enter, and the Hanover Police Service anticipates additional criminal charges will be forthcoming.
