Traffic Stop - Stunt Driving2Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police, along with OPP Highway Safety Division and OPP Aviation Services, conducted a two day traffic enforcement blitz over this past weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, August 11 and 12, officers patrolled from the air and on the road looking for aggressive and unsafe drivers.

The following list sheds light on the poor choices that are being made by some drivers.

6 drivers for Stunt driving - speeding by 50 or more km/h 172(1) Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
44 drivers with Speeding section 128, Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
3 drivers with Pass when roadway not clear of approaching traffic section 148 (8)(A), HTA
1 driver with Fail to slow down and proceed with caution for emergency vehicle section 159(2), HTA

"This past weekend's traffic enforcement event was part of the ongoing effort by Bruce Peninsula OPP to continue to maintain a zero tolerance for those who choose to operate a motor vehicle on Highway 6 in a manner that affects the safety of others on the highway," says Interim Detachment Commander - Staff Sergeant Paul Richardson.
