On Thursday September 6th, 2018 at approximately 2:00 p.m. the Owen Sound Police arrested a 25 year old male party for possession of stolen property. The man arrived in Owen Sound from Hamilton approximately a month ago. Earlier in the day police responded to a theft which occurred over night, where several Makita battery and power tools were stolen from a motor vehicle that was parked unlocked in the 900 block of 6th Avenue East. It was later determined that the suspect unsuccessfully attempted to pawn the stolen property off at a local used goods store for money. The suspect was located by police in the down town core and arrested without incident. The tools currently remain outstanding but stolen property in relation to another theft was recovered.

Police are also currently investigating an attempt break in over night to an attached garage to a residence in the area of 700 block of 15th Street East; the culprit was not success in their attempt. As well in the 900 block of 6th Avenue East an attached garage was entered through a broken window over night on Tuesday September 4th at which time the home owners beer was stolen.
