Just after 12:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon the Owen Sound Police were notified by an alert employee from the LCBO of a possible impaired driver. A female had entered the store but was denied service due to her level of alcohol consumption. She was observed to get behind steering wheel of a vehicle and was seen leaving the area. Officers were furnished with a description of the vehicle and began their search. The driver was located and safely stopped in the 800 block of 27th Street West. The 37 year old was arrested and transported to the police station where she underwent breath tests before a qualified technician. Her breath samples registered 2 ½ times that of the legal limit of 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.
The Owen Sound woman is to appear in court on September 27th, 2018. Her driver's licence has automatically been suspended for a period of 90 days and her vehicle impound for 7.
