Hanover PoliceFollowing an investigation into alleged illegal activity at a 10th St. residence, Officers from the Hanover Police Service executed a search warrant in the early evening hours of Thursday, February 7th, 2019.

During the search, Police located and seized a quantity of methamphetamine, brass knuckles, and recovered identification and personal property that had been reported stolen in 2018 from persons residing in Hanover, West Grey, Markham, and Elmira. These items included driver’s licences, credit cards, birth certificates, an Ontario Health card, and a Canadian passport.

49-year-old Hanover resident, John KOLAKOWSKI, was arrested at the scene and faces numerous criminal charges: ‘Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine’, ‘Possession of a Prohibited Weapon’, and 5 counts of ‘Possession of Stolen Property - Under $5,000’.

He was held in custody overnight for a bail hearing in Walkerton on February 8th and has since been released on his own Recognizance to appear in court next on February 20th.
