snowboardMale facing highway traffic act charge after stunt.

Owen Sound Police investigated a traffic complaint last evening in the area of 9th Avenue ‘A’ East. A caller reported a vehicle was observed pulling a snow boarder along 9th Avenue ‘A’ East and the boarder was attempting manoeuvres on the large pile of snow in the cul-de-sac.

Police arrived in the area at 10:00 p.m. just in time to be passed by the SUV towing a male on a snow board. A traffic stop was initiated and a 24 year old male from British Columbia was charged with attaching a person to the vehicle. A conviction results in a fine of $110.00 and 2 demerit points.

Police would like to use this incident to educate drivers about this offence and have them consider the potential for serious injuries or death from this type of behaviour.
