Ontario Provincial Police LogoThe South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision on Concession 10 Elderslie and Sideroad 5 Elderslie in Arran-Elderslie.

On Thursday March 7, 2019, shortly after 4:00 p.m. South Bruce OPP, Grey County OPP, Saugeen Shores Police Service, Bruce County Paramedic Services, and the Paisley Fire Department, responded to a collision involving a school bus and horse drawn buggy.

The five occupants from the horse drawn buggy were all injured. One of the occupants was transported by air ambulance to hospital with life threatening injuries, another occupant was transported by ambulance to hospital with life threatening injuries and three remaining occupants were transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

There were students on the school bus at the time of the collision and no injuries have been reported. The driver of the school bus was transported to hospital for medical assessment.

Members from the West Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) Team have been called in to assist with the collision investigation.

The intersection of Concession 10 Elderslie and Sideroad 5 Elderslie is currently closed for the investigation. There are road closed signs positioned to the East and to the West of Concession 10.

The investigation is continuing and information will be provided when it becomes available.
