opp snow fullAlcohol related charges were laid after a driver ditched their vehicle.

On March 9, 2019 just after 7:00 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a single vehicle collision on Milligan Drive, Flesherton, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

Upon arrival police observed the lone male seated in the driver's seat of the vehicle which was lodged in a snowbank on the dead end road. The Grey Highlands Fire Department and Grey County Paramedic Services (EMS) were at the scene to assist. There were no injuries reported.

Information was received that the vehicle was found running. A strong odor of alcohol emanated from the vehicle. The driver appeared to be intoxicated. A part bottle of alcohol was seized from the front passenger floor of the vehicle. The male was arrested and transported to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment for breath tests. He refused to provide a sample of his breath despite being cautioned as to the consequences of his refusal.

50-year old Kenneth Francis Casserley of Barrie, Ontario was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and failure or refusal to comply with demand. The G2 driver was also charged for being a novice driver with a blood alcohol content above zero and for having care and control of a motor vehicle with an unsealed container of liquor.

He is to appear in court in Owen Sound on March 28, 2019.
