opp graphic fullTwo people were arrested, and stolen property recovered, after a concerned citizen reported a suspicious vehicle to Grey County Ontario Provincial Police.

On March 17, 2019 at approximately 2:00 p.m., a Grey County OPP officer was flagged down by a passing motorist in Owen Sound. The complainant advised the officer that the suspect vehicle may be carrying stolen merchandise inside after it was seen leaving the parking lot of a retail complex on 16th Street East.

Police stopped the suspect vehicle on 5th Street East in Owen Sound and found that the female driver and the male passenger both had outstanding arrest warrants issued for them by other police services. They were arrested on the strength of the warrants.

Stolen property, including clothing and electronics, were seized from the vehicle.

The driver, 26-year old Shawnessy Desire Thompson of Saugeen First Nations was charged with the following offences:

- Personation with Intent to Avoid Arrest

- Breach of Recognizance

- Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.

- Driving While Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act).

The passenger, 36-year old Joshua James MISQUADIS of Cambridge was charged with the following offences:

- Breach of Recognizance (x2)

- Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.

- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid (other than Heroin) CDSA

Both accused were held for a bail hearing scheduled for March 18, 2019.
