Hanover PoliceThe Hanover Police Services Board and the Hanover Police Association have agreed on the terms of five-year contracts for both the uniformed and civilian members of the Hanover Police Service.

These agreements include wage adjustments, wording clarifications and the inclusion of new sections that are comparable to other similar sized police services within the Province. Negotiations concluded on May 23rd, 2019 when the agreements were signed by Board and Association officials without the need of outside mediation. These new contracts extend from January 1st 2018 to December 31st 2022.

Members of the Hanover Police Service will experience a wage increase every six months throughout the first four years of the five-year contracts with the average annual wage increase over that time period being 1.9%. The fifth year increase will be determined by averaging the increases of three other similar sized police services in the region in the previous year.

The signing of these agreements is an indication of the cooperation and excellent working relationship between the Board and the Association. Both parties are committed to providing efficient and effective community based policing to the residents and visitors of the Town of Hanover.
