Ontario Provincial Police LogoOn June 7, 2019 at 10:33 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police were called after complainants reported hearing calls for help coming from on the water in Colpoys Bay, Georgian Bay. Police learned a 16 foot vessel sunk and four males were in the water. Three males were rescued from the water. Two males, 19 and 22 years of age, had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance for cold water exposure.

The fourth male was found deceased in the water. He has been identified as Tyson Denning, 26-years-old from East Garafraxa Township.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Christopher Solomon, 39-year-old male from Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation with impaired operation of a vessel causing death, section 320.14(3) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Grey Bruce OPP officers, Grey Bruce OPP Crime Unit, OPP USRU and OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators continue to investigate the incident.
