Ontario Provincial Police LogoTwo males charged with impaired driving.

On June 27, 2019 at 10:28 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to a (orange) pick-up truck in the ditch. The complainant reported that no one was observed with the vehicle. Police arrived on the scene and observed two farm tractors on scene each operated by a male driver.

During the investigation involving the motor vehicle in the ditch, police learned that one of the males had been the driver of the truck when it entered the ditch and went and got a tractor to remove it. The second male attended with his tractor to assist in removing the truck. OPP officers arrested both males for being impaired while operating their individual tractors.

OPP have charged a 21 year old male of Grey Highlands with the following:

Operation while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration over 80, section 320.14(1)(b) CC
Fail to remain at the scene, section 200(1)(a) Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
Fail to report accident, section 199(1) HTA

OPP have also charged a 57 year old male of Grey Highlands with the following:

Operation while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) CC
Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration over 80, section 320.14(1)(b) CC

Both accused were released on Promise to Appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 18, 2019.
