On the 8th of July 2019 at approximately 11:30 pm Owen Sound Police located a running car in a parking lot in the 1100 block of 3rd Avenue East in the city of Owen Sound. Police found a man sleeping behind the wheel of his motor vehicle.

The 24 year old Owen Sound man was discovered to be highly intoxicated by alcoholic beverages. He was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and was transported to the police station where he provided breath samples that were over twice the legal limit. The man must now attend court in July and answer to criminal charges of Impaired Operation and Over 80. His vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

In addition to the criminal charges, his licence has been suspended for 90 days under Provincial legislation.
