The force of the impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles and extensively damaged a traffic light standard.

As a result of the collision two occupants of the Honda FIT were transported to the Grey Bruce Health Services by ambulance for non life threatening injuries sustained during the collision.

Investigation has resulted in the 33 year old driver of the Honda FIT being charged with Left Turn – Fail to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid a collision contrary to section 141(5) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The traffic lights at the intersection will remain flashing with amber and red lights while repairs are being made. These repairs will take several hours to complete. The Owen Sound Police Service would like to remind drivers that you must stop at a flashing red light and treat a flashing amber light as a yield and only proceed if it is safe to do so.
