OS Police target fullJust before 2:30pm, on August 12th, 2019 police responded to the area of 10th Street East and 3rd Avenue East after receiving two separate calls from citizens alerting police to a male who was possibly armed, concealing a handgun in his waistband.

A third citizen alerted officers to the male’s whereabouts. Moments later the male was located and safely taken into custody by officers. Officers found that the culprit was in possession of a BB gun that closely resembled a real handgun. The weapon was concealed in his waistband. The culprit was also found with a small quantity of suspected Fentanyl.

A 30 year old Owen Sound male has been charged with Weapons Dangerous, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of Fentanyl, Breaching 4 Weapons Prohibitions and Breaching 2 Probation Orders. He will appear in Bail Court in Owen Sound on August 13th, 2019.
