OS Police target fullOn Monday September 9th, 2019 at 2:38 am, Owen Sound Police Service officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. in the 1300 block of 8th Street East. Officers observed a vehicle make a U turn instead of proceeding through the R.I.D.E. Officers followed the vehicle as it drove through residential neighbourhoods in the area. A vehicle stop was initiated in the 1100 block of 11th Avenue East for investigation. As a result of the investigation, the male driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The driver was transported to Owen Sound Police Service were breath tests were conducted which registered more than twice the legal limit.

The 30 year old Owen Sound man will appear in court later this month to answer to the charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol concentration equal to over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The driver also faces several charges under the Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The male party’s licence was immediately suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 7 days.
