Ontario Provincial Police LogoOn October 8, 2019 at 6:07 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a missing person call at Berford Street in Wiarton. The complainant reported that her 83 year old husband went for a walk at approximately 11:00 a.m. and she had not heard from him since.

During the investigation, at 6:44 p.m., OPP officers were notified of a male found in Bluewater Park with vital signs absent. OPP and Bruce County Paramedics attended the scene. A designate from the Ontario Coroner's office attended the scene and pronounced death of the male.

The death has been deemed as not suspicious. The name of the deceased is being withheld allowing for next of kin notification.
