drugsOn Tuesday April 28th at approximately 6:25 p.m. members of the Owen Sound Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit and Criminal Investigations Branch concluded a drug trafficking investigation with the arrest of an Owen Sound man in the 1000 block of 2nd Avenue East.

Police seized methamphetamine, suspected Fentanyl, illicit edible cannabis product as well as more than $3,400 in cash proceeds of crime.

At the time of the arrest police located a functional Taser that the accused had concealed on his person, along with a prohibited knife and an expandable baton.

The accused, Shawn Aguiar, 42 years old, was charged with numerous offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of prohibited weapons, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of proceeds of crime and breach of a release order which resulted from previous criminal charges he is facing in another jurisdiction.

The accused made a court appearance on April 29th and was remanded into custody.
