policecarA 19-year-old Hepworth male lost his license and had his car impounded for 7 days after being charged with stunt driving.

On 12 May 2020 at approximately 6:23 pm police received a complaint of a vehicle being driven erratically. The vehicle had apparently passed the complainant and then slammed on his brakes slowing down to a crawl purposely holding up the complainant. When the complainant attempted to pass the slowed vehicle, it was blocked from doing so. The complainant turned off and went a different direction.

A short time later in a different part of the city the same vehicle passed the complainant and again slowed preventing him from travelling at an appropriate speed.

Police located the vehicle and driver a short time later. As a result of the investigation, the male driver was charged with stunt driving under section 172 of the Highway Traffic Act. The charge comes with a mandatory 7-day license suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment. The male has been summonsed to Provincial Offences Court on August 10, 2020.
