attack net regThe Owen Sound Attack could very well have a successful day at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft if everything falls into place. Six players from the 2014/2015 squad were named in the most recent NHL Central Scouting rankings amongst North American Skaters.

Thomas Schemitsch (91), Tyler MacArthur (175), Ethan Szypula (194) and Jarett Meyer (201) were all ranked as skaters. Both Attack goaltenders were named in the rankings as Michael McNiven was in the 21st spot and Jack Flinn was four spots behind in 25th. McNiven was the 4th ranked goalie in the OHL while Flinn was the 5th ranked netminder amongst OHL goaltenders.

The North American rankings include all players (North American and European)playing on North American based teams.

While rankings are important in the eyes of scouts, it should be noted that several Attack players over the years have gone on to be drafted, despite not being ranked by Central Scouting, most notably Andrew Shaw and Kurtis Gabriel in recent years.

The 2015 NHL Entry Draft is set for June 26-27 in Florida.
