The Owen Sound Attack will play host to the Niagara Ice Dogs in a rare Monday evening match-up at the Bayshore. The original contest between the two teams was slated for Wednesday, February 24th. Despite the original date being postponed, the CMHA will be on hand this evening in an effort to promote Mental Health awareness and to highlight the partnership between the Attack and CMHA.

Tonight’s game against Niagara will feature a CMHA-run kiosk so fans can learn more about mental health, promotional videos and public address announcements. The player videos with Markus Phillips, Ethan Szypula and Santino Centorame can be found by clicking here.

The awareness campaign is part of the ongoing commitment by the Owen Sound Attack and CMHA Grey-Bruce to implement Talk Today. Announced in October 2014, Talk Today is a partnership between the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and CHMA Ontario. It provides mental health support to players and raises awareness about mental health and suicide throughout OHL communities.

Niagara comes into town on the heels of a 2-1 loss to the Erie Otters on Sunday afternoon. Niagara’s loss puts them at a 4-6 mark in their last 10 games and seven points behind the North Bay Battalion for 3rd spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Attack went 1-1 on the weekend, romping to a 10-2 win over the Mississauga Steelheads on Friday before dropping a 4-1 decision to the Sarnia Sting on Saturday. The home team still holds down 6th place in the Western Conference after the Soo Greyhounds dropped a 4-3 decision to Windsor. Both teams sit with 64 points and have clinched a playoff spot, however; the Attack hold the edge due to playing one less game.

Tickets for tonight’s game can be purchased at the DJ’s Furniture Attack Box Office, online at www.attackhockey.com or by calling (519) 371-7452. Fans are also reminded that tickets dated for the original game on the 24th are valid and should be used for tonights game.

Game time is 7:00pm.
