bayshore raceResults from the 2016 Bayshore Race held in Owen Sound this past weekend are now in, and the event was a huge success. 425 runners and walkers participated in the 7th annual Race, presented by Middlebro' & Stevens, Barristers & Solicitors.

The Royal LePage RCR Realty Half Marathon Run was won by Mitchell Belford of Wasaga Beach with a time of 1:16:21. The first female finisher was Janet Gamble from Owen Sound, coming in at 1:25:31. Helen Bokalo of Mississauga was the overall winner of the Half Marathon Power Walk with a time of 3:15:47. Aaron Manning from Toronto won the 10k Run in a time of 36:13. Owen Sound's Tracey Hebert was the first women in at 48:43. The 10k Power Walk was won by Rainer Moeller of Toronto. Grey Bruce Laser Vision Centre sponsored the 10k events. Mike Konstantopoulos of Toronto won the Runner's Den 5k Run with a time of 17 minutes, 12 seconds. The first place female in the 5k was Coldwater's Olivia Karn, crossing the line at 20:44. Top finishers in the Kids' 1k were Luke House and Olivia Nairn, both of Owen Sound. The Kids Race was sponsored by Germania Mutual Insurance.

$39,000 was raised in support of women's health, including a software upgrade for digital mammography equipment, plus new equipment used during gynecological surgery for the Owen Sound Regional Hospital.
