attack-red-dogs-fullFor the one and only time in the 2017-18 Ontario Hockey League season, the Owen Sound Attack will play host to the Niagara IceDogs.

Set for a 7:00pm puck drop, tonight, Wednesday Nov. 22, the cross-conference foes will do battle in the first of two meetings on the year, with both teams looking to gain ground on opponents in their respective divisions.

The Attack enter Wednesday night's contest with 26 points through 21 games and six points back of the Midwest Division leading Kitchener Rangers. While the Rangers do have a decent sized lead over Owen Sound, the Bayshore Boys have two games in hand, with Wednesday night's contest being one of them.

Fresh off of a West Division road-swing, the Attack skate into the game with a record 12-7-0-2 while Niagara comes in sitting at 9-8-3-1.

The IceDogs 22 points in 21 games on the year leaves them one back of the surging Mississauga Steelheads for 2nd place in the Central Division.

Leading the way for Niagara is a trio of players each with 21 points on the year with Kiril Maksimov pacing the play thanks to his 12 goals and nine assists. Forward Ben Jones has 11 tallies and 10 helpers on the year on the year while Akil Thomas takes the role of playmaker, with 16 assists alongside his five goals.

While Niagara, who has seven players in double digits as far as scoring goes on the year, boasts offensive depth; it is Owen Sound's firepower that is the story heading into the game.

The Attack have 11 players with at least 10 points on the year, three of whom are in the top 12 in league scoring.

Nick Suzuki, selected 13th overall by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, continues to lead the way for the Bears with 37 points on the year.

NHL Free Agent Sean Durzi is the OHL's top scoring defenceman with 32 points - good for 6th in the league, while Kevin Hancock's 10 goals and 19 assists have him one shy of tying for 9th in league scoring.
