attack-fullThe Owen Sound Attack will look to build off of Wednesday night's victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs when they welcome the Erie Otters to town for a pair of games this weekend.

Sitting six points apart in the Midwest Division standings, the Attack and Otters will be embroiled in what is sure to be a heated weekend of hockey as Owen Sound currently holds the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Entering the two game set against the Otters, the Attack sits at 17-18-2-5 on the season, which is good for 41 points.

Erie, who kicked off their weekend with a 3-0 loss in Kitchener on Friday night, enters Saturday's game with a record of 13-22-6-3 on the year.

Prior to the 7:30pm puck drop on Saturday, the Attack will host a pre-game ceremony in conjunction with Special Olympics Ontario and the Lw Enforcement Torch Run to highlight the efforts of those in our community to make sport accessible for everyone, especially those with intellectual disabilities. Saturday night's game will also see a special Law Enforcement Torch Run Bucket Pass, with Special Olympics Ontario setting up a kiosk in the South Concourse where patrons can get more information on the program.

On the ice, Nick Suzuki remains the as the pace car for Owen Sound, sitting at 53 points in 38 games on the year. The 1.39 points per game pace puts Suzuki in a tie for 10th in the OHL scoring race, while teammate Sean Durzi is just six points back and amongst the league leaders in points by a defenceman.

Erie will counter with recently named captain, Kyle Maksimovich who has 51 points on the year. His 24 goals on the campaign leads Erie, while his 27 assists is just four less than Otters forward and Minnesota Wild draft pick Ivan Lodnia who has 50 points by way of 19 goals an 31 helpers.

Following Saturday night's affair, the teams will renew hostilities once again on Sunday afternoon as the Attack host another Investment Planning Counsel Sunday Game.

Featuring free popcorn for the first 200 children through the doors, a jersey giveaway, and a post game skate and autograph session with the Attack, Sunday's 2:00pm start will mark the 6th and final meeting of the year between Owen Sound and Erie.
