attack-fullThe Owen Sound Attack are set for their 1st weekend homestand of the 2014-2015 OHL season and it gets underway on Saturday, Oct. 4 against the Guelph Storm at 7:30 pm and will wrap up with a Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm against the Ottawa 67's. Undefeated in regulation, the Attack is 1-0-0-2 on the year after a pair of shootout losses to the Kitchener Rangers and London Knights. Head coach Greg Ireland said his team needed to get back to a hard work ethic in a week of practice leading up to the weekend's games. Overage forward Daniel Milne has two goals and three assists for five points in the team's three games so far this year, while captain Zach Nastasiuk has a pair of goals and assists. Defenceman Alex Annechiarico will be eligible to return to the line up for Sunday's game after serving a four game suspension.

Sunday's contest against the 67's will also feature a Bell Skate with the Team and Autograph session following the game, and is also family day. Thanks to IPC Securities, the first 200 kids at the game will receive a free bag of small popcorn.

Tickets for both games are available by stopping by the DJ's Furniture Attack Box Office at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Centre, by calling 519-371-7452, or by visiting www.attackhockey.com.

KEYS TO VICTORY

Sat, Oct. 4 vs Guelph: The Storm likes to play a high tempo game, much like the Attack. Ireland will look for his team to get in hard on the forecheck and prevent the opposition from generating any speed on the rush or a forecheck of their own.

Sun, Oct. 5 vs Ottawa: One of the younger teams in the league, the Attack will try to use their size and aggressiveness in the corners to wear down the youth of the 67's. The youth of the team extends into net where an untested goaltending tandem could be taken advantage of with a number of shots.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Guelph Storm

Ben Harupur, D: Veteran defenceman Ben Harpur has one of Guelph's two goals on the year and the team sits at 1-1-0-0- as of Wednesday, Oct. 1. Guelph's home opener was a surprising 6-0 defeat at the hands of the Belleville Bulls but they responded with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Windsor the very next night.

Ottawa 67's

Ben Fanjoy, RW: Ben Fanjoy scored the 1st goal of his OHL career in Ottawa's season opener against the Kingston Frontenacs. It is Ottawa's only game of the year so far and the 67's will be on the road against the Oshawa Generals and Barrie Colts before rolling into Owen Sound for Sunday's game.
