The Owen Sound Attack's top veterans led by example Saturday night, propelling the team to their second consecutive victory over the Kitchener Rangers, 5-2.

The Attack beat Kitchener 3-0 Friday night, lifting the team from a losing skid that had stretched to four straight games.

Rookie goalie Michael McNiven was solid in net for both victories over Kitchener, stretching his record to seven wins and one loss. And in what could signal that McNiven has been anointed the number one goalie for the Attack, he made back-to-back starts this weekend for the first time in his OHL career.

Platzer, an Edmonton draft pick, scored a hat trick and an assist, while Nastasiuk recorded a goal and three assists. Bigras notched a goal and two assists.

Kitchener starting goalie Matthew Greenfield was chased from the net after the first period, when he let in three goals on eight shots. He was replaced by Dawson Carty. McNiven stopped 27 of 29 shots.

The Attack visit Guelph next Friday, then host Mississauga Saturday night.
