On June 12, Victim Services Bruce Grey Perth will host a full day workshop with Michael Kaufman at the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound. Kaufman is a Canadian author, educator, and theorist focused on engaging men and boys to promote gender equality, end violence against women, and end self-destructive ideals of manhood. He co-founded the White Ribbon Campaign in 1991, has published many acclaimed papers and books, and was recently appointed by the Prime Minister of Canada to his G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council.

Organizers of the Youth Ask Grey Bruce All Candidates Town Hall planned for Saturday May 26th are offering $10 travel bursaries to youth carpooling from outside of Owen Sound. The all candidates town hall is funded through a grant from the Laidlaw Foundation for groups encouraging civic engagement in youth aged 14-29. The Youth Ask organizers wanted to present youth voices to the Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound provincial candidates in a non-partisan structure and remove as many barriers as possible from youth participation.
