The Owen Sound Dance Academy is looking for 1-2 experienced dance instructors to teach ballet and highland dance classes. As a member of our faculty, you will share in our teaching philosophy as you share your love of dance with your students and prepare them for exams, performances, and competitions.
The Academy provides artistic and technical training in Ballet, Contemporary, and Highland, all in a safe, welcoming, and encouraging atmosphere. We understand and care about the impact that a good dance experience can have on the lives of our students. This experience is built from a combination of sound technical foundations, goal-setting and performance, and positive relationships with teachers and fellow dancers. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
*must be living in Grey Bruce*
1. Ballet Teacher to teach several levels of recreational ballet technique classes, ranging from Preschool age to Adult. Familiarity with the RAD syllabus is an asset but not a requirement. Potential to teach some exam classes if qualified.
3-5+ hours/week, $20-$40/hour.

2. Highland Teacher to teach several levels of combined recreational, exam, and competitive highland classes, ranging from First Steps to Adult. An Associate or higher membership with the SDTA or BATD is required.
3-5+ hours/week, $20-$40/hour.

Both positions are 10 month contract starting in September, with the potential to renew each year.
The Academy will accept the same candidate for both positions if all qualifications are met. If you have experience in multiple styles (Highland, Ballet, Contemporary, and/or Tap) you may be able to teach up to 6-10 classes/week depending on registration and your availability.
