Wednesday June 10th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Grey Bruce Health Unit Classroom, 101 17th St. East, Owen Sound, the third community round table held by Violence Prevention Grey Bruce (VPGB), to discuss how to bring the difficult issue of sexual violence 'Into the Open' in Grey Bruce at a Community Round Table on Sexual Violence Prevention. People who have attended previous Round Tables, and newcomers who wish to be part of this important community discussion are welcome. The focus is on Action and Change. We are excited about this great opportunity to be together and move together with actions that will prevent sexual violence in Grey Bruce, and support everyone being part of that common agenda.

In 1967 ten First Nation boys, all good runners and students, ran 800 km with the Pan Am Games torch from St. Paul, Minnesota to Winnipeg only to be denied the right to carry the torch into the stadium. That "honour" was given to a white runner. In 1999 Winnipeg hosted the Pan Am Games again, realized what had happened, tracked down the original runners, apologized and 32-years later, the runners finished the journey they had begun.
FrontRunners: Niigaanibatowaad is the story of those runners from residential school. It is a story that revisits memories--horrible memories and wonderful ones. It is about the resilience of First Nation people and what it means to be a runner and a bearer of fire. Ultimately, this film is about truth, reconciliation and creating a future for First Nation youth.

SUNDAY JUNE 14TH at 1PM, Grey Bruce Pride 2015 continues at the Roxy Theatre, as "Pride," a movie based on the true story of the alliance between striking English miners and their LGBT supporters in 1984 is presented in partnership with Gallery Night at the Movies and the Tom Thomson Art Gallery. Doors open at 12:30 pm

Sunday, June 14th, at 7PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Auditorium Bryan Leckie brings his unique and extraordinary songwriting talent to kick off the 2015 TD Harbour Nights concert season, Celebrating the Songwriters. Beneath the Krueger Moon in June features Bryan on acoustic guitar leading the Krueger Band, with Rob McLean on keys, Dave Farrar on drums, Larry Dickinson on bass, Trevor MacKenzie on electric guitar, and the incomparable vocal harmonies of the Krueger Girls: Sylvie Kindree, Josie Elder, and Lauren Jewell. Part 60s folk, part classic blues, with a dash of soul and a sprinkling of everything from the Andrews Sisters to the Monkees, the Krueger Band is a mittful of memorable tunes and a musical experience you won't soon forget.
