Words Aloud is one of Canada's premier literary festivals. Over the course of its 16 years it has brought some of the finest Canadian and international poets, spoken word artists, story tellers, multi-media artists and musicians to the Grey-Bruce area to perform and deliver workshops.

This year, Words Aloud is proud to invite poets to sharpen their quills and take part in a summer poetry contest, to be held in conjunction with two new festival sponsors, Coffin Ridge Winery and Dreamers Creative Writing. The deadline is July 20, 2019.

There will be three prizes. First prize will include a $50 honorarium, a gift from Coffin Ridge Winery, and a complimentary festival pass. Second and third prizes will include a $25 honorarium. All three winners will be published on the Words Aloud website, WordsAloud.ca. Winners must be available to read their works at the Coffin Ridge Winery fundraiser on August 30, 2019, where their names will be revealed to the public.
