gbrGeorgian Bay Roots, a local radio show that's been on the air on Sunday afternoons for a little over three years now has been picked up by an international online broadcaster, bluesandrootsradio.com and will be airing Tuesdays and Fridays in addition to the local airing on AM560 every weekend.

The show, which touts itself as "The official show of Summerfolk," was started by Jon Farmer who created and recorded and hand crafted every weekly episode by himself for the first months. As it became more popular Jon found some help, adding Ted Rusk, Dylan McMullin and Kailey Jane Hawkins to the rotating roster of DJs. Ted passed away a little over a year ago and at that time Lauren Jewell and Kelly Babcock stepped in to help out. Lauren and Dylan now do one episode together and Jon, Kailey and Kelly each do one show out of every four.

Blues and Roots Radio made the announcement on social media on Sunday, October the 6th and commented "Great to have you join the team and bring your knowledge to our schedule of local, national and international artists, Tuesday's at 7pm ET and repeated Fridays 11pm ET on the Essential Channel, Kelly kick's it all off tomorrow with a cracking show."

The Georgian Bay Roots radio show team is excited about the new opportunity to play music that's made in or played in Grey and Bruce counties for a broader audience, but note that they will still be playing for the home town crowd first, " ... every Sunday at 4PM, unless there's a hockey game on in which case we'll be on after the hockey game."
