Scotiabank Hockey Day In Canada, which will be nationally broadcast live from the Good Cheer Rink in Harrison Park, is just around the corner and event organizers wish to remind citizens and visitors to plan on taking a shuttle into Harrison Park’s day-long festivities on Saturday, Jan. 21.

There will be no general parking, and only limited accessible parking (valid permit required) is available at the park.

Shuttles, provided to all users for free, will be running from three in-town locations to allow easy access to the heart of Harrison Park on broadcast day.

Shuttles are available at:

  • Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre (north boat launch parking lot)
Accessible shuttle (wheelchair-friendly) service from this location
    • Shuttles will run every 30 minutes, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

  • Scotiabank Owen Sound (857 2nd Ave. E., rear parking lot)
    • Shuttles will run every 15 minutes, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

  • South End Fellowship Baptist Church (400 2nd Ave. E.)
    • Shuttles will run every 15 minutes, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The last shuttle runs will leave Harrison Park at 6:45 p.m. The park will also be accessible by pedestrian access through the Freedom Trail.

Harrison Park will be buzzing with all kinds of hockey and skating fun on the Good Cheer Rink ice surface, visits with the Stanley Cup, and exciting activation centres throughout the park.

Registration is required for skating and shinny – or pick up – hockey opportunities on the Good Cheer Rink, with shinny and public skating taking place a few separate times throughout the day.

To register for on-ice shinny hockey or public skating at the park, please visit OwenSound.ca/SkatingRegistration.

Registration is required to ensure the rink is full while Sportsnet is broadcasting across the nation and to collect required information and permissions.

The complete schedule of events, shuttle information and more are available at OwenSound.ca/HockeyDay.
