Owen Sound Election 2018

Candidates were collecting their signs; would-be voters were being disconnected on the phone and internet; frustrated voters were tearing up their letters thinking they were too late when the following media release was sent out:

The City of Owen Sound is extending the voting period for the Municipal Election until Tuesday, October 23rd at 8:00pm.

Earlier this evening, the city’s election service provider experienced a technical issue that affected internet and telephone voting access for their clients province wide. The issue resulted in slow access to voting sites.

To ensure voters are able to cast their ballots, the City, along with other affected municipalities are extending the voting period to 8:00pm on Tuesday evening.

Help Centres will remain at City Hall (945 3rd Avenue East) and the Bayshore Community Centre.
