Harvest Fest 2023

A collage of images showing outdoor seasonal activity in Moreston Heritage Village.

Kick off the fall season with food, fun, and music at Harvest Fest at Grey Roots!

Enjoy all kinds of fun foods prepared right here in Grey County with local ingredients and global influences. Listen to traditional and contemporary music from around the world. Play heritage games or learn to grind grain the way the settlers did. Plus lots more to enjoy at our harvest celebration!

Live Music Lineup

Musicians will rotate between various locations around the village during the festival. Follow the sound to find them!

Amely Zhou is an erhu performer, a Chinese music specialist, and a conductor.
She has premiered more than thirty new erhu works from composers around the globe. Zhou received the best performance award from CNTV in 2018 and an Artist in Education grant from the Ontario Arts Council in 2015.
When featured on the cover of WholeNote magazine, Zhou's cover story read that “the high value she places on connecting with fellow musicians and audiences is among the most distinguishing features of her playing.”
Currently, Zhou serves as Music Director of the Canadian Chinese Orchestra, and the Music Director of the Ontario Multicultural Music Association.

Pete Devlin has been a professional musician for over 30 years. Starting out in Toronto as a teen, Pete played in clubs at age 17. Then playing around Owen Sound, Pete has been a part of the Amber May band and often accompanies Larry Jensen. On both acoustic and electric guitar, Pete specializes in blues, rock, folk, and country. In 2014, Pete had the honour of playing with Alex Lifeson from Rush. More recently, he has teamed up with Trevor MacKenzie, forming the band Grey Road One.

The McGee Family Band features long-time Grey Roots favourite Dan McGee on Irish flute, his brother Jim McGee on fiddle, and Jim’s daughter Anne McGee on concertina, playing traditional Irish tunes and folk melodies that will have you tapping your feet and clapping along. And yes, dancing is permitted!
