re: Calling out racism and hate, July 9

Firstly, I applaud Anne Finlay-Stewart from The Owen Hub for taking the risk to call out these egregious stickers and educate the public about this hate speech. It is time to be brave and I thank you for standing up.

Hate speech has no place in Owen Sound or anywhere. The Owen Sound I know is a welcoming and an open place. We must be brave and take action, as well as take the opportunity to rise above. If you see the stickers be brave: Watch for them; Call them out; Report them; Write to your political leaders.

Be vigilant. I plan to be.
