Summer 2022 marks the reopening of Camp Presqu’ile after two years of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a historic summer for the nearly 100 year old overnight camp, as it not only marks the first summer back after COVID, it marks the dawning of a new camping era under the leadership of Megan “Scotia” Hutton. Scotia comes to the YMCA with many years of camp experience including managing YMCA Camp Pine Crest in Muskoka and virtual camp programs for Y Canada. “We are enthusiastically planning our 2022 Summer overnight camp season, and looking forward to breathing new life into this special place, which holds so much beauty and history, ” Hutton stated.

Camp Presqu’ile is a unique summer camp that focuses on the camper’s development in “spirit, mind and body”. Through low camper to staff ratios, campers are members of a community that focuses on fun, fair play and building relationships with others. Campers have an opportunity to participate in activities ranging from ecology, drama, and arts and crafts, to archery, swimming and canoeing.

Located North West of the city or Owen Sound, Camp Presqu’ile covers 14 acres of beautiful Georgian Bay shoreline. In partnership with the Owen Sound Rotary Club, the YMCA of Owen Sound has provided overnight summer camp to youth aged 6-16 for the past 60 years.
