red high heelsMen of Grey and Bruce are once again being invited to put on a pair of women’s heels for charity.

Women’s House’s annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® fundraiser is coming soon. This year, as we return to in-person events, we have two events. Walkers can take the pledge on Saturday, May 28th in Kincardine at a Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® event that is being hosted by Ewyn Studios, Creative Casuals and Bruce Steakhouse (registration and walk starts at Ewyn Studios), or they can support and help to raise awareness on Sunday, May 29th at the Queen’s Bar & Grill in Port Elgin, registration / pledge drop-off begins at 12noon, and the walk begins at 1pm at both locations.

The proceeds of the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® events in both Port Elgin and Kincardine will benefit Women’s House Serving Bruce & Grey.

This high-profile fundraiser has been “walking” all over North America. Men will champion to end gender-based abuse and sexual violence by walking the walk and talking the talk, and by asking friends, family, co-workers and workplaces to sponsor them through pledges. They walk for the women in their lives, they walk as individuals, or join together to make a team, but they walk to show that they are man enough to stand up against violence against women.

We are looking for community minded men who are brave enough to walk a mile in a pair of 2-inch red heels to bring awareness to the need to end gender-based violence. This is a great venue to challenge another workplace in your area. We supply the shoes and it is a fun family day for all, as they cheer you on.

Will you step into heels and take the pledge to end gender-based violence? Find Walk Forms (to register) and Pledge Sheets (for donations) at http://whsbg.on.ca/are-you-man-enough/. Link to on-line donation platform can also be found at the same location. Register early, and your name/team name (and photo, if provided) will appear on our website.
