studentsOriginally launched by Community Foundation Grey Bruce in early 2016, www.payforschoolgreybruce.com is a portal designed to help local students access funding for post-secondary education and training.

The website lists locally developed, application-based awards for Grey Bruce students pursuing post-secondary education and training opportunities. Applicants can customize their search based on the high school they're graduating from and their chosen education pathway such as an apprenticeship, college or university.

Information on almost 500 different scholarships totaling more than $640,000 are currently available on the website. While there's a wide range of values, many are $500 to $1,000 with a small number also offered in the tens of thousands of dollars. Although deadlines vary per application, students should look at the website as soon as possible to meet May 31st deadlines.

Stuart Reid, Executive Director of Community Foundation Grey Bruce comments that "We're pleased to offer this comprehensive resource for Grey Bruce students. Pursuing education opportunities is certainly commendable and payforschoolgreybruce.com serves as a depository of financial resources to help local students realize a diversity of education pathways."

One of the Foundation's mandates is community betterment through endowment building. The interest from the endowments is then used to provide grants to local charities and non-profits. The Foundation currently administers approximately $17 million in endowments of which $1.5 million earns income to support scholarships for Grey Bruce students.
