QUEEN'S PARK – Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker said he will hold Social Services Minister Helena Jaczek to her word that $200 million will be put directly into the frontline for developmental services so that vulnerable adults and children in Ontario can get the critical services they need.

os-police-tire-snow-regOWEN SOUND - On Tuesday November 25th the Owen Sound Police Service investigated two separate incidents of pickup truck theft. Both thefts occurred at different store parking lots on 16th Street East. Another pickup truck previously reported stolen from Huntsville was abandoned at one of the theft locations. At this time neither pickup truck has been located.

knife-regOwen Sound -At approximately 7:30 pm police attended the 1000 block of 3rd Ave E in regards to a 21 year old Owen Sound man having a knife. The 21 year old man and his girlfriend were confronted by another male on the street in a chance meeting. The other male had an issue with the 21 year old man's girlfriend from a past incident and initiated a verbal argument with her. When it appeared that things might escalate, the 21 year old male pulled out a knife and displayed it in order to get the other man to back off. The other man fled and called police. Police located the culprit nearby at which time he was arrested.

flare-regSAUGEEN FIRST NATION – On June 21st, 2013, members of the Bruce Peninsula OPP were conducting traffic control on Highway 21, Saugeen First Nation.

At 1:23p.m., Provincial Constable Bryan Boshold was alerted to a structure fire by a concerned citizen at a residence not far from where he was conducting traffic control. Const. Boshold immediately responded and ran to the residence. He approached the front door and tried to enter.

After determining that the door was locked, he breached the door and entered the residence as there was indication there was someone in the house.
