flare-regSAUGEEN FIRST NATION – On June 21st, 2013, members of the Bruce Peninsula OPP were conducting traffic control on Highway 21, Saugeen First Nation.

At 1:23p.m., Provincial Constable Bryan Boshold was alerted to a structure fire by a concerned citizen at a residence not far from where he was conducting traffic control. Const. Boshold immediately responded and ran to the residence. He approached the front door and tried to enter.

After determining that the door was locked, he breached the door and entered the residence as there was indication there was someone in the house.

os-p0lice-july-regularAt approximately 1:05am a 2007 Dodge Nitro lost control along the east harbour wall and flipped on its side causing extensive damage to the vehicle. At that time the driver crawled out of the vehicle and began to run away. Police were called and a citizen who had observed the vehicle crash stopped the driver. Prior to the crash the vehicle had been observed driving at high speeds in an erratic and dangerous manner. The driver was arrested for impaired driving. He was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 25 year old male driver will be charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving and possession of marihuana when released from hospital.

tins-featThe Owen Sound Police Service's Auxiliary Unit, in support of the Owen Sound branch of the Salvation Army, will be holding several food drive events at local grocery stores over the coming weeks. Food collected will assist local families in need over the holiday season. Items being sought include pastas, dry cereals, baby foods, peanut butter, and canned goods. Auxiliary Police Constables will be collecting non-perishable food items at the following locations:

boa-regA Boa Constrictor snake reported missing from a residence near 11th Street West and 4th Avenue West has been located deceased.

On October 12th 2014, the owner of the 6 foot long Red Tail Boa Constrictor contacted the Owen Sound Police Service to report the snake had gotten out of its enclosure and was missing. Extensive internal and external searches in and around the home failed to locate it.
