Bluewater District School Board is reaching out to community organizations to share planning information and to encourage potential partnerships.
Community partners are invited to indicate their interest by completing an ‘Application of Interest for Community Facility Partnership’.
Additional information is available on the Bluewater District School Board website at www.bwdsb.on.ca/business/CPP. Updates will also be posted regarding any intention to build new schools or undertake significant renovations and to inform about the availability of space in existing schools.
Bluewater District School Board will hold public meetings once a year to discuss potential facility partnership opportunities with the community and to exchange ideas/needs with community partners.
The next public meeting will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bluewater District School Board Education Centre in Chesley.
The recently released Community Planning and Partnerships Guideline by the Ontario Ministry of Education encourages school boards to reach out to community organizations to share planning information on a regular basis to allow for potential collaboration that serves the best interests of boards, students and the community while optimizing the use of public assets. This provides opportunities to share facilities when building and renovating schools and when considering the use of unoccupied space in schools and school properties that may be considered for future disposition.
