The Owen Sound Farmers’ Market will be open as usual this Saturday Morning.

“We’ve been contacted by a lot of people who are concerned the market may not be open. The food vendors at the market remain an essential service and as such, aren’t affected by the Provincial Emergency and Stay at Home order,” says Market Vendors Association President Laura Buckler.

The indoor market has been operating with COVID protocols in place since last spring. Facemasks, hand sanitizing, social distancing and a one-way traffic flow have all been in place throughout the pandemic. Craft vendors at the market are affected by the shutdown, and while they can’t participate in person, many continue to offer their products through the online market shop.

“The continued support of our patrons is much appreciated by all of our vendors,” says Market Co-manager Richard Thomas, “we appreciate their patience when lineups form, and do our best to ensure traffic keeps moving so that wait times are short.”

For people who prefer to spend less time out during the current emergency order, the online shop remains open for convenient shopping and curbside pickup at the 8th Street side of the market on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A link to the store can be found on the market website: www.owensoundfarmersmarket.ca The online shop is open from Sunday noon until Thursday noon.

The market is open from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday.
