In Ottawa, NDP MP Charlie Angus is joined by Evelyn Korkmaz, a St. Anne’s Residential School survivor, as well as Deputy Grand Chief Anna Betty Achneepineskum from the Nishnawbe Aski Nation and Deputy Grand Chief Rebecca Friday from the Mushkegowuk Council to discuss the litigation between the federal government and survivors of St. Anne’s.

They are calling on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to meet with survivors from the school, which operated from 1902 until 1976 in Fort Albany, Ontario. A recent interim report by retired judge Ian Pitfield found that at least 81 compensation cases involving the school require "significant review".
