Marion Koepke is seeking another term on Owen Sound City Council.

Koepke worked for the city as its deputy clerk and then as clerk in a municipal career that spanned 26 years. Since being elected in 2014, Koepke has served on most city committees and the police services board.

In a media release, Koepke says she is also proud of her volunteer work with the North Grey Women’s Institute, Community Foundation Grey Bruce, Owen Sound Legion, and Grey Roots Museum and Archives, the Kiwanis Club of Owen Sound, Owen Sound Hospital Auxiliary, and Owen Sound Hospital Foundation and Board of Governors. She has recently been appointed to the Ontario Justices of the Peace Appointment Advisory Committee.

“I like to take a common-sense approach to matters before Council knowing I am a taxpayer as well.... It is important that Council is fiscally responsible while facilitating sustainable growth to meet our needs,” Koepke says in her release. “Being on Council is a job that requires passion, hard work and dedication, as well as an awareness of local needs, issues and the concerns of our citizens.”
