Ray Buttineau finished off his final snowblowing chore from the Holiday Blizzard of 2022 Tuesday morning as the region emerged from the five-day signifigant weather event.

The fire hydrant beside his driveway is finally clear of snow, a small but essential step in digging out from a major snow accumulation.

Grey County has declared the signifigant weather event as ended. All routes are open and passable but roadways remain potentially dangerous.

Road surface conditions are ranging from covered, to partly-covered, to centre-bare, according to Ontario 511.

Major city roads are slushy and slippery, the cross-town morning rush Tuesday, Dec. 23, was fairly light. Grey County is advising against non-essential trips.
