Car window burglary

Over this past weekend, two separate incidents of theft from vehicles were reported to the Owen Sound Police Service.

The first thefts happened on Saturday October 1, between 7:00 and 10:00 pm in the area of the Harry Lumley Bayshore arena located at 1900 3 rd Avenue East. The suspects smashed the windows of two vehicles, entered the cars and then stole a purse and a wallet.

The second incident occurred just before 5:00 pm on Sunday October 2, in the Swiss Chalet parking lot at 1598 18 th Street East. The suspects broke the window of a vehicle and stole the victim's purse.

We remind the community that these are preventable crimes. Reduce your risk by stowing valuable items in the trunk of your vehicle or hide them in such a manner that they are not visible from the interior of your car.
