An annual tradition was upheld at the final Regular Meeting of the Board on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 as Bluewater District School Board recognized and celebrated outstanding contributions made by dedicated volunteers in our school communities. The Awards of Excellence provide a snapshot of the countless individuals whose year round efforts help to foster the academic, physical, social and emotional development of students in Bluewater. Recipients are nominated by others within their respective family of schools, including teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, students, support staff and/or members of the community. By virtue of the process, there is distinction in merely being nominated for an award.
At this year's recognition presentations, trustees took turns at the podium to personally honour each recipient for contributions, which ranged from participation on school committees, organizing breakfast clubs and supporting literacy/numeracy/music programming to classroom volunteering, school photography, fundraising and parent involvement initiatives.
