Grey County Ontario Provincial Police together with members of the Grey County OPP Crime Unit continue to investigate the fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on November 18, 2017 at the intersection of Zion Church Road and Grey Road 17 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

The criminal investigation, involving alcohol, is ongoing.

Charges are anticipated against the driver of the Dodge Dakota pick-up truck.

On November 18, 2017 at approximately 1:05 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police together with Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Zion Church Road and Grey Road 17 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

Initial investigation revealed that a Dodge Dakota pick-up truck travelling southbound on Zion Church Road failed to stop at a posted stop sign resulting in a collision with a Ford Edge sport utility vehicle (SUV) that was travelling eastbound on Grey Road 17.

Grey Bruce Paramedic Services (EMS) and South Bruce Fire Department assisted.

The driver of the Ford Edge, a 23-year old female, suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and a 52-year old female passenger suffered minor injuries. Both were transported to hospital. A second passenger inside the Ford Edge was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased has been identified as 53-year old Allan Joyce of the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

The driver of the Dodge Dakota pick-up truck, a 31-year old female from Wiarton, sustained serious non life-threatening injuries. A 34-year old male passenger from Owen Sound suffered minor injuries. Both were transported to hospital.
